Spinning ClassesIndoor Cycling

This is an indoor cycling class designed to improve cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength. You may have heard indoor cycling classes are extremely hard and will kick your butt.  Don't be scared off by what you have heard!!  I will help you build a strong aerobic base before we take the class up a notch, ensuring that you will be ready for the challenge.  Yes- your butt may be sore the first few times but you will quickly get over it and soon understand why it is so addicting!  Class is set to fun, motivating music and will provide a variety of terrain (hills, flat road, speed drills).  Proper alignment, body mechanics and goal specific training will be taught in this class. 

I will take you on a fun ride while giving you a challenging workout!

Note: Due to the limited amount of bikes (6) I will not be able to provide clipless pedals for cycling shoes.  You will need to wear comfortable tennis shoes.   Also, please wear breathable, comfortable clothes- your gonna get sweaty!!!

I have to ask that you reserve a bike in advance and commit to class so that everyone has a bike when they come.  Reservations can be made through email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , texting or calling me @ (801) 918-9285, or in the reservation book in the gym (one week in advance). To see if a class is available click on the class schedule, then on the class you want.  The names of those registered will been shown in the details section and a note will be made if it is full.  Once a class is full I will make a waiting list.  If someone cancels you will be contacted if you are on the waiting list.  24 hour advance notice is required when canceling a cycling class in order to allow someone else to use your bike.  Your punch card will be charged if you do not show up.  Thanks for understanding!!
  

 

Strength Training

Want to get rid of those saddle bags on your thighs and those bat wings on your arms?  This class will help you find those muscles you haven't seen since you were 20!   

This is NOT a heavy weight resistance class.  We will be using dumbbells, bands and your own body weight to train specific muscle groups. You will strengthen your body and get in great shape.  Resistance training is a great way to replace body fat with muscle.

Please wear comfortable workout clothes and good workout shoes.



 

Yoga ClassesYOGA

I recently read this quote, "saying you are too stiff to do yoga is like saying you are too dirty to take a shower."  That means you NEED yoga like you need a shower!  This class will introduce you to pure and simple yoga poses.  No crazy, body contourtionist moves unless you ask for them- promise!  Yoga improves your circulation, strengthens your muscle tissues, helps flexibility, increases your breath capacity and challenges your mind.  It also reduces stress and improves overall well-being.  The last 10-15 minutes of class will focus on meditation and relaxation.

There are many types of yoga but we will mainly practice Vinyasa.  Vinyasa means flow and referes to the flow between poses.  Class will be designed to help you learn to move fluidly through yoga poses.  Yoga is an amazing way to balance out your strength training and cardio workouts.


Note: Yoga mats are provided.  Please feel free to bring your own if you have one.  Yoga is done in bare feet to ensure stability and balance.  No shoes required!!  Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.
